My Current Skincare Routine

One of the good things about being in and out of lockdown is that I've had more time to really perfect my skincare routine.  I've always been pretty good with my nighttime routine but I didn't have much of a morning one so now that I\"m not rushing out the door to get to the office I have been able to figure out what my skin needs during the day as well as the night. Morning I still want to keep my routine quite simple in the mornings because when things do go back to normal I don\"t want to be wasting a lot of time on it.  So this is what I've been doing: Step 1: Clean my face with some micellar water and a cotton pad.  I use this one from Superdrug . Step 2: Spray my face with a mist.  I use either the Mario Badescu Aloe Vera one or this one from Caudalie . Step 3: I use a vitamin c serum as it really helps to brighten the skin.  I'm currently loving t his one from The Ordinary. Step 4: I go in with SPF, this is so important for protecting your skin fr

How To Plan A Girls' Weekend in Your 30s

What better way to celebrate your favourite ladies than an unforgettable girls' weekend.  Here are some of my tips, tricks and ideas for trips with your besties. Where to Go London -  how could I not include this, best city in the world. What to Do Brunch - there are so many good brunch options in London and something for everyone.  You can do a bottomless brunch, you go try some cool vegan and vegetarian options, there are even cat cafes (yes, where you can bring your furry friend!). What to Pack A versatile dress that you can wear with heels or trainers and sheet masks for your hangovers! Where to Go Brighton - amazing restaurants, gorgeous beach, chilled vibes.   What to Do Beach picnic - such a great way to spend a warm summer's day or evening for that matter and it doesn't require too much effort.  It\"s also a good way to catch up rather than being in a loud restaurant, you can also get some great Instagram snaps here too. What to Pack A casual jumpsuit with a j

Creating My Gallery Wall

Gallery walls have been around for a while now and it was something I wanted to do when I bought my flat around 10 years ago but I just never really had the space.  Now that we have a house I knew I definitely needed to do a gallery wall in one of the rooms so I decided to do this in my dressing room/guest room with P oster Store  and I have a discount code for you to get 45% off! To start with, I needed to find the prints that I wanted and I decided to try and find prints that showed my interests.  Poster Store have an amazing selection of prints with so many different interests, style, colours, themes and moods; you will definitely find something you like. Then I picked my frames and I went for different sizes and styles.  You can also find a great selection of frames on posterstore.co.uk .  I went for all black frames but you could also mix it up with different colours. Once I had put the prints in the frames I laid everything out on the floor to decide where I wanted the frames

Spring Trends 2021

Neutrals Neutrals are still very much around for this year.  I'm seeing more and more people going for the minimal/less is more look and I'm all for it.  There's just something that I find really chic about minimal looks and as I get older I find myself gravitating to these looks over the bold colours and clashing patterns that I loved a few years ago. Links Sunglasses Top Trousers Jacket T-shirt Leggings Green Green almost falls into the neutral category and I think that's why we're seeing more of it.  It also goes really well with neutral outfits if you just have a pop of green.  It's a cool way to wear colour if you're not that daring.  I much prefer to just wear a pop of colour now than all over colour.  Mint green and khaki green are particularly popular. Cardigan Trousers Jacket Bag Sandals Jumper Blazer Bag Leggings Boots Shackets I think at first people were a bit skeptical about shackets as they were a little bit too casual to fall into the chic mi

Shopping For Wedding Dresses

We got engaged almost two years ago now and I can't believe we'll be saying "I do" in a matter of months! I have two wedding dresses picked out which I'm not going to show on here until after the wedding but I thought it would be fun to share some other favourites and styles from different price points.  When I got engaged I went on Pinterest and immediately started saving all my favourite styles of wedding dresses for inspiration which I think most girls do so here are some of my top picks. The Simple One This is probably the style I will go for.  I'm not really one for the big style wedding dress and instead just want something super simple and elegant. The Lace One This is what I think of when I envisage traditional wedding dresses; the lace, the full skirt and the train. The Sparkly One This one is so pretty, I love the detail to it but for me I definitely want something more simple. The Boho One This was probably my second choice of style of wedding dress

Tips For Getting A Better Night's Sleep

Right now as we go through a world pandemic I think some of us are having a hard time sleeping.  Here are some of my top tips for getting to sleep and staying asleep for a good 8 hours! 1.  It seems really obvious but try to limit screen time before switching off.  Your phone/TV/tablet really activates your brain cells which in turn keeps you awake for longer. 2.  Instead of reaching for your phone why not read a book instead?  The whole looking left to right whilst reading makes your eyes sleepy and gets your ready for some good REM sleep. 3.  Have a milky hot drink before bed.  There's a reason that babies sleep so well after a bottle of warm milk.  My favourites are a hot chocolate or a golden milk (turmeric with oat milk). 4.  I've recently started listening to a meditation podcast before bed.  The one I listen to is The Daily Meditation podcast and it has new 10 minute mediations everyday.  This not only helps me sleep well but also makes me less anxious which

The £12 mascara I'm Obsessed With

I recently discovered the L'Oreal Paradise mascara which I've been using for the last 5 months now and it's safe to say I'm totally hooked. I know L'Oreal have always lead the way when it comes to high street, affordable mascaras but they have really excelled themselves with this one .  Not only does it give you longer, thicker looking lashes, it also has castor oil infused into it which is good for naturally lengthening your lashes over time as well as being a dream to apply. It's also one of those products that you can make as dramatic as you want.  For work I just apply one coat which you can see in the photo and it just gives a natural lift and look but for a night out (when we're eventually allowed out!) I would apply 2-3 coats for thicker, darker looking lashes. Share your favourite drugstore mascaras below! Lauren xx For more inspo follow me here @wonky_lauren *Post contains affiliate links*

How To Stay Stylish When It's Cold Outside

The cold weather can really put a spanner in the works for us fashionistas; we want to stay warm but also look stylish, we want to be cosy and practical but without looking outdated and boring.  However, it doesn't always have to be this difficult with these top tips. Buy yourself a cool puffer jacket Your coat or jacket is going to be an integral part of your outfit in making you look more stylish as this is probably the only thing people will see (or at least the first thing they see) so make it count.  There are loads of trendy jackets out there that are still very warm just like the puffer coat.  You can go for a chic long black one which will go with everything and feel like you're wearing a sleeping bag or you can go for a colourful patterned one to really make a statement. Coat Leggings Boots Beanie Jacket Jeans     Invest in some stylish but practical boots Boots are probably the warmest type of footwear and there are some really stylish snow boots and

Items In My Wardrobe That Went From Trend To Staple

One of my goals for 2021 is to stop buying trends and start investing in staples.  However, sometimes a trend becomes a staple which you can't always predict, here are some of my favourites that will definitely be sticking around: Smart Joggers Pre-Covid, joggers for me were always something I wore in the house only or maybe just to run errands or do the groceries.  Fast forward 12 months and having to work from home pretty much full time, I decided I wanted something a little smarter but still just as comfy and so my fiance bought me these smart joggers from Topshop which I think are the perfect mix of smart casual. Jumper Trousers Shoes Hunter Boots These definitely started as just a trend almost 10 years ago when I attended a lot of festivals.  I would never have worn wellies anywhere else but figured I would get my money's worth seeing as I was attending around 5 festivals a year.  Now, however, with my festival days behind me (okay, maybe the odd one once a yea
