Nutella Milkshake

I figured since I'd spent the majority of this month going on about my health kick and healthy eating this, exercising that, that it was time for a naughty treat.  Seeing as it's the end of the month and payday (can't forget that!) I'd show you one of my favourite treats to make in my Morphy Richards Easy Blend blender.

They are super easy to make and all you need is Nutella, bananas and milk.  I like to use almond milk.  I throw in 2 bananas, 2 tablespoons of nutella and a cup of milk into the blender and wizz it up for about 1-2 minutes.  You could then add some squirty cream and chocolate syrup on top to finish.  Then you're done and they are sooooo yummy!

You could swap the milk for cream or ice cream if you wanted something a bit naughtier OR if you still wanted to try and stay healthy you can swap the nutella for hazelnuts and chia seeds.  However, you will want to soak the hazelnuts in water or half water/half milk to soften them first else they won't blend properly and could damage your blender.

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do.  What else can I blend?  If you have any good recipes, let me know!

May Favourites

It’s that time of the month again, monthly favourites!  This month I’ve been enjoying a whole bunch of random things.  I’m going to try and do a video on it too so look out for that.  I’ve been a bit rubbish with posting videos recently as I’ve had so much studying to do, sorry about that.  I will be back on form once the exam is out the way (9 June!)

Anyway, back to May favourites…

The foundation I’ve been loving this month is the Benefit Oxygen Wow foundation in ‘Honey you’re so money’.  I’ve only got a small bottle of this as I got it in the ‘How to be the best at everything’ kit but I think I will definitely purchase the large bottle.  It’s quite dewy which is good for my dry skin but not so much that it leaves you oily.  It’s the perfect shade for me too as I often fake tan.

I recently bought this highlighter pen as I heard it was a dupe for the Mac prep and prime pens.  I think I actually showed it in my last haul video here.  I don’t think it’s quite as good as the Mac one as it doesn’t seem as thick so I’m not sure I would use it to conceal but as a highlighter it’s great.  I’ve been using it for nights out in the usual highlighting places and it looks fab.

I feel like I mention these in every favourites post but that’s how much I love them.  My favourite colour is the on and on bronze because it’s so versatile and brown is my favourite eyeshadow colour.  You can wear it on its own or as a base and build a really nice smokey eye with it.  I think the reason I love these so much is because I quite often go out straight from work and I can shove these in my make-up because they’re so small, quickly blend it over my lid and I’m ready for a night out.

I’ve really fallen back in love with my Naked palette this month.  I’ve really been working the champagne shimmery colours a lot because I think they’re so pretty for this time of the year and the Naked palette has the perfect shades.  I think this will always been my favourite palette but I am on the look out for a new one so if you know of any goodens please comment below!

Now that I’ve had my extensions taken out and my hair is a lot shorter, I knew I wouldn’t be able to style my hair exactly the same and I was a bit worried I would no longer be able to use my beloved Remington Pearl wand.  I have the conical wand too but that gives tighter curls and I prefer a looser beachy wave.  However, I got it out the other week and I’m pleased to report it still does a good job.  I’m now really enjoying my shorter hair and finding different ways of styling it.  I think I will do a new hair video soon so keep a look out for that.

Look created using above products

I’m pretty sure I’ve spoken out this toner before but it is really very good.  I think the reason I like it so much is because it’s in a spray bottle so there’s no messing around with cotton buds and spreading germs around your face, you just spray it on and leave it a few minutes to dry before applying oil or moisturiser.  Easy peasy.

A non beauty favourite I’ve been loving this month is my gorgeous necklace from New Look.  I actually bought it last summer but I've dug it back out for 2014 because it's just so pretty.  Probably my favourite necklace of all time so far and I think it was less than a tenner!  New Look do some great bits of jewellery for a such reasonable prices.  I'm definitely going to go in there after payday and stock up as I find you have to be quick.

So you know how I'm on this major health kick at the moment (two weeks till Ibiza!) I've been absolutely loving the blender my mum got me for Christmas.  I didn't even use it for the first few months but now I use it about 3 or 4 times a week.  I've been trying out different recipes, some yummy, some not as much but all really healthy and I have it for breakfast.  As the name suggests, it is actually really easy to use and clean.

MAC Cosmetics: Beauty Bloggers' Favourites

Everyone loves a bit of MAC.  It's high end quality but not with too much of a high end price tag.  There are so many different products with different colours and finishes it's no wonder it's a favourite brand in the beauty world.  I've done a bit of research and carefully selected some of their all time, must have, wonder products.

This is an awesome colour; not quite red, not quite orange, just something bright and vibrant in the middle. Red is such a classic colour to wear and orange is meant to be the new red this session so this colour is perfect and on trend.

This eyeshadow is the perfect underbrow highlight and I think that's what a lot of people like it for.  It can also be used in the inner corner of the eye to brighten and make you look more awake (we all need a bit of that from time to time right?)  Pretty, shimmery and girly... can't go wrong.

This lipgloss just complements any lipstick colour you have gone for as it's a peachy nude. You can also wear it on its own for a more natural look.  It's not too sticky and stays put for ages.  It's also easy to apply with it's doe foot applicator.

This powder is a cult product and is probably one of the most sought after products from MAC.  It just blurs over your skin once you've applied your foundation and gives a flawless yet natural finish.  It really is a miracle worker!

This is another product that is going to go with any other eye colour or lip colour that you've got going on so it's no wonder it's such a favourite.  It's like a peachy coral colour so perfect for this time of the year (Spring/Summer in the UK) and gives a really healthy glow.

So those are the cult favourites but what are yours?

10 Things To Try In Superdrug

Now you know me, I’m a big drugstore girl at heart.  I love a bargain and if I can get something that’s just as good for half the price then I will.  So this post is going to feature my favourite drugstore products.

I love everything in the MUA range really bcos it's so affordable.  The lipsticks start at just £1.  These palettes come in a lovely array of colours, you get 12 eyeshadows and for just £4.  You can't go wrong!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer

These lip lacquers are absolutely gorgeous.  Super pigmented and last for hours.  They're like a mixture between lipsticks and lipglosses so no need to fuss about with two different products.

I've talked about these before on my blog as I love the rose gold colour for being a dupe of Nars orgasm.  I also like the palette blushers they do where you get 3 different colours for £10.  The packaging is rather swanky too!

So many different colours and finishes I just couldn't pick my favourite.  I do really love the nude collection and have two of the shades in honey beige and tanterlising taupe.

I gave one of these a try a few months ago and did feel that it made my teeth a shade or two whiter.  I also love the Oral B Brilliance 3D toothpaste.

A little bit more on the pricey side for drugstore but still worth the money.  These eyeshadows come in some beautiful colours and have such a pretty finish, rivalling the pigments from MAC.

I've written about these before too bcos they're one of my all time favourites products. They have such a good lasting power and can be used as a base to hold other eyeshadows or on their own.

I'm not a massive lover of drugstore foundations and prefer to use high end but I've heard so much hype about this one that it must be good.  I definitely want to try it once I've finished with my Arbonne one.

Again I don't always use drugstore mascara but I've heard so much about this one I really want to try it.  I actually recommended it to my sister when she was looking for a drugstore one and she loves it so maybe I will give it a go next!

Just all of them!  I couldn't possibly narrow it down to my top 10 let alone favourite.  So many shades, so many finishes, just amazing nail polish basically.

Happy Shopping!

Beauty and Fashion Haul

With Spring pretty much here and Summer just around the corner in the UK I have been making a few purchases to get me in the mood (as if I need an excuse!)  There are so many pretty colours and patterns in the shops at the moment and I'm having to hold myself back from buying everything!

I've also purchased some new skincare products as I've been running low on my old ones and fancied a changed.  And of course I couldn't help but add to my ever growing makeup collection with some new items so here is a video of me showing you everything I've bought over the last month or so...

For details and links of all these items either open the video up in YouTube or go to my shop page and to see me wearing some of the outfits check out my Instagram.

Thanks for watching!  And remember to give a thumbs up if you like and subscribe for more!!

The Green Juice

If you’ve read any of my latest blog posts you’ll know that at the moment I’m on a bit of a health kick.  I don’t know whether it’s with summer coming up (AKA holiday season AKA Ibiza) or whether it’s because I’ve invested in some healthy cooking equipment and cookbooks but either way it’s a good lifestyle change for me and I’m feeling the benefits!

For Christmas my mum bought me a blender as I’ve wanted one for ages and this last month has seen me using it religiously.  A lot of people I see or hear of making juices or smoothies from a blender seem to only use fruit, which to be fair is a lot more tasty but I wanted to make mine super healthy and so I looked into some recipes for the infamous Green Juices I’ve heard so much about.

I’ve found that making a green juice is actually just adding, well, greens to your usual fruit concoction and you know what, you can hardly taste the greens at all.  Here are two of my favourite recipes:

Kiwi x 2
1 cup almond milk
1 cup spinach

This one tastes really creamy and all you can really taste is the banana.  You can’t taste the spinach at all, promise!  It’s a good one to try for your first time.

1 cup of chopped melon
1 tangerine
1 cup of rocket
1 cup of orange juice

This one you can taste the peppery rocket flavour slightly but it’s not too bad.  It’s very refreshing.

I’ve really been enjoying using my blender and make myself a juice every morning for breakfast.  I normally make enough for two glasses so leave the leftover in the fridge for the next morning.

I hope you enjoy these recipes and please let me know if you have any other ones, I’d love to try!

Non Beauty Favourites

I think I've mentioned this camera in another blog post (or it may have been the D3200) but I have been in the market for a really decent camera for ages now and still haven't gotten around to getting one.  I feel like if I'm going to spend that sort of money I want a really good excuse to buy it and I figured as I'll be taking my final exam next month maybe I should treat myself then?  This camera looks the nuts so I'm hoping to get my hands on one soon!

I've seen a lot of people rocking these types of slip on sneakers with a sort of chunky sole (click on the link above to see what I mean) and I found these really cool ones in H&M about a month or so ago.  The ones I have are snake skin print which I don't think they stock anymore but I've found some leopard print ones that are just as cool and only £12.99! I think I'm going to get a lot of wear out of them this Spring and they're super comfty too.

I keep walking past this jacket in my local Peacocks and I think I might have to go in and purchase.  It's the perfect Spring jacket as it's a nice light colour with a bit of colour and sparkle great for daytime or in the evening when it gets a bit chilly.  It reminds me of the one Millie Mackintosh has from Zara.  Peacocks isn't somewhere I really shop but because I have one in my local highstreet I do walk past a lot and see some nice things in the window.  It's really cheap AND does student discount.

About a month ago I decided to give up my Virgin Active membership and look for another gym.  Not because I didn't like Virgin but every year I like to change gyms because I feel it motivates me more to go. However, when I realised how close my exam was I didn't think there was any point in joining until after as I probably wouldn't have the time to go as much so in the meantime I have been running a few times a week.  I found this app on iTunes which I think is great.  It measures the distance of how far you've run, time, speed and calorie consumption so you know exactly how much you're pushing yourself and how much more you need to push next time!

I've been really getting into this band of late.  A lot of people say they're like the new One Direction but I think they're sound is more indie and mature personally.  I've downloaded most of their songs and can't wait for the album to come out.  They're fun and cheeky and their music just puts me in a really good mood. So I guess I can officially call myself a Vampette!

I tried to pin it down to one particular pair of jeans but I just can't, I love all of them!  I recently bought some navy skinny jeans as I didn't have any in this colour and really wanted them.  I think I mentioned them in my January Sales Haul.  They have lots of skinny jeans in different colours for about £25 which I think is such a bargain.  I'm also really loving the distressed, ripped jeans they have in there at the moment.

My mum bought me the cutest mug recently which has 3 little pugs on it.  I absolutely love pug dogs and really want one but can't at the moment as I live in a flat.  I couldn't find the exact one my mum got me but I found this one which is similar.  Not quite the same as the real thing but it will have to do for now and obviously I have my two lovely bunny rabbits which I adore :)

I'm really trying to go on a health kick at the moment and have been making juices for breakfast everyday in my blender.  For lunch I have been OBSESSED with eating sushi and the one I buy is the veggie taster from Tesco as I'm a vegetarian.  It's reasonably priced that I don't mind buying it each day and it's satisfying enough to take me through till dinner time where I've been making my own healthy meals from scratch using my Honestly Healthy cookbook.

I haven't gotten around to seeing this yet where I've been so busy with life stuff but I really really want to as it looks soooooooo funny.  Cameron Diaz is one of my favourite actresses and I find her hilarious, she is really very talented.  I'm hoping to see this film before it stops at the cinema but otherwise I will probably buy the DVD as I think it's going to be a must have.

I used to watch EastEnders religiously when I was at school but then as I got older I found the storylines got a bit naff and it was all about Hollyoaks for me.  However, recently the storyline with Lucy Beale's death has had me gripped.  I read about it online about a month ago and started watching it and now I can't get enough.  Never thought I would be an 'Enders fan again but stranger things have happened!

The Balm Nude Tude Palette

I bought this palette around Christmas time last year so quite a few months ago now and I feel like I can do a proper review of it.

I originally bought it because I already had the Naked 1 palette by Urban Decay (which I love) but I felt it didn't have enough 'everyday' matte colours in it and I'm quite a big fan of neutral matte colours.  So I saw this on Feel Unique and thought I would give it a try.

I love it.

I'd say it's probably my favourite palette at the moment because it has a nice ratio of mattes to shimmers making it perfect for travelling.  It's also a good palette when you haven't got much time and you don't wanna to fanny around looking for different colours in other palettes 'that will go' with your look.  You can create lots of different looks to suit whatever occasion in this one palette.  It's not a bad price either at £26.50 for 12 eyeshadows.

I particularly like this look I created when I went to The Box in London.  I used sultry in the crease, stand-offish over the lid and silly in the corners and underneath.

Please let me know if you have any similiar recommendations, I would love to try!
