Wonky Lauren x H&M

I've shopped in H&M since I can remember, back when I was little and it was called Hennes.  I remember going to the local shopping mall with my mum and her taking my sister and I to Hennes to buy matching outfits for our holidays haha. H&M is such a great store though.  It does some really lovely up to trend pieces at affordable prices.  They have a wide range of clothing for babies, children, men and women and  they also have an amazing home section.  Not to mention they have some of the best workout clothes around!   Their products are available pretty much worldwide. Over the years they have collaborated with some brilliant designers to bring out exclusive looks just for their customers.  H&M has always been one of my favourite stores (more on my favourite stores here ) and I hope to continue shopping there when I have my own children. Let's Talk Body Issues

Since joining Instagram  about two years ago I can't help but notice how much girls bash each other over the way they look.  If someone has boobs and a bum, they're fat?  If someone has a flat stomach, they're too skinny?  It's terrible how judgmental society has become and even worse is the fact that they think it's okay to make these nasty comments.   I'm not saying everyone is like this, in fact, most people aren't.  I know someone who posts a bikini photo is asking to be looked at and scrutinised but you need to learn when to keep your thoughts to yourself.  Do you not stop and think how this might affect the person posting it?  That they are human beings with feelings? I was always really skinny as a kid and am still quite naturally thin now but I hated it when people called me skinny.  The word skinny can be just as hurtful as calling someone fat. We need to learn to accept everyone as they are and realise that beauty comes from within.

Thursday Ten: You Know You're A Londoner When...

"London isn't everybody's cup of tea, often you hear visitors complain.  Noisy, smokey city but it seems to me there's a magic in the fog and rain" - Hubert Gregg. So what does it take to be a true Londoner?  Born and raised here I've listed what makes me a Londoner and why I love it so. 1. Everyone's your mate whether you like them or not.   From a friendly "Alright mate" to a stern "Listen mate".  Oh, and those "bloody" tourists. We like to say bloody A LOT. 2.  You grew up eating pie and mash .   My dad loves a bit of pie and mash, so does my grandad and his dad too.  You can't have it without liquor though, that's the green sauce they pour on top made from parsley.  Lovely jubbly.  And if you were fortunate enough like me you got to visit the famous Manzies in Bermondsey. 3.  You have a tube map embossed on your mental fabric.   Yes I know which every coloured line correlates to

Caribbean Cruise Packing Guide

Back in November I went on my very first cruise on my very first trip to the Caribbean.  I was lucky enough to visit the beautiful islands of The Bahamas, St Maartens, Puerto Rico and Turks & Caicos and you can see more of that here . When you go on a cruise it's different to other holidays and so you have to pack slightly differently.  You want more practical clothing than your average beach attire for during the day as there'll be lots of exploring to do.  In the evenings on the ship things get a bit more fancy and we had two elegant nights where we had to dress up a bit more. Here are some ideas of what to bring: Top row - New Look Bottom row - Missguided Top row - H&M Bottom row - ASOS Have you ever been on a cruise? Lauren xx Facebook | Instagram | Twitter

Friday Favourites: My Cookbook Collection

I was never really in to cooking.  I just didn't know how and always ended up burning things.  There was once an incident when I tried to cook beans on toast and I put a slice of bread on a plate with cold beans on top and shoved it in the oven for 20 minutes (plate included!).  Needless to say the beans and bread were completely burnt and the plate cracked as soon as I removed it with my masterpiece (ahem) falling on the floor.  Mum was not happy one bit! However, now I live by myself I started to get into cooking a bit more.  I'm still not great at it and use the microwave a lot (not microwave meals for one might I add!) but I actually really enjoy it.  I never feel confident enough to cook for others but that's okay, more for me :) Here are some great cookbooks I have in my collection, mainly of healthy recipes, that have given me inspiration over the last few years. 11 Healthy Habits You Need To Make

I'll admit it, I'm not the healthiest of people but I don't think I'm the worst either.  I try to be healthy 5 out of 7 days of the week which I don't think is too bad.  We are human after all and if we tried to be healthy all the time we would just end up crashing and all the hard work will be wasted.  That said, here are a few little changes you can make to becoming more healthy. 1. Drink more water I take a bottle of water everywhere I go and fill it up during the day. 2. Eat more fruit Add it to your breakfast or morning smoothie, snack on it during the day, having it as dessert after dinner. 3. Walk as much as you can I literally walk everywhere as most Londoners do.  I walk to and from the station and the gym every day so see where you can fit walks in your daily routine. 4. Get enough sleep Yay an excuse to sleep more!  We should get around 8 hours a night but for some reason I need 9 to function ;) 5. Exerci

Wear | Life | Eats: Clubbercise and Sweet Potatoes

This weekend was different but fun!  I did a Clubbercise class Friday night and Saturday I went to a friend's for dinner. Wear For the Clubbercise class I wore a grey workout top from LA Gear ( similar here ) and blue tracksuit bottoms from Next ( similar here ) with my black Nike trainers.   On Saturday I opted for all black with black ripped skinny jeans and a black band t-shirt as we were just chilling at home. Life The Clubbercise class I went to was really fun.  It's basically an aerobic style exercise class to club/dance music.  And the best part is they switch all the lights off and have disco lights going round AND you get given glowsticks to hold and wear.  So fun!!  I really worked up a sweat even though it didn't feel like I was working out at all.  For more information on classes visit their website here . Eats My friend and I found a recipe online that we wanted to try and we just adapted it a little.  We took a sweet potato

Wonky Lauren x Eos

Until about a year ago I'm not sure I'd even heard of Eos.  As far as I know you can't buy this brand anywhere in the UK.  However, I had seen a few beauty YouTubers using them in their videos and they just looked so cute and cool.  Then when I went over to The States last November I spotted them in Walgreens and I couldn't believe how unbelievably cheap they were so I picked one up in Passion Fruit. Since then I have become obsessed and have a whole collection of them.  I even moved onto the hand cream they've just come out with when I visited Ulta the last time I was in the US. These are such cute little lip balms (did I explain they were lip balms?) and can easily just be thrown into your handbag when you're on the go.  They're so different and unique to any other lip balms, I always get people asking me about them whenever I pull one out of my bag.  I even got my best friend and sister hooked! If you're in the US you

Thursday Ten: My Sunglasses Collection

Only 9 of the sunglasses I've listed below are from my collection.  I do have more but I don't wear them so I only wanted to show the ones I actually wear and then one other pair I'm currently craving.   I have to admit it I'm a little sunglasses obsessed, especially seeing as I live in London where we barely see the sun!  I feel they just pull an outfit together and add a little edge.  Sometimes we just want to wear them when we don't feel like showing our face as something to hide behind.  Whatever the reason it's always wise to invest in a good pair of sunnies... or 9 ;) Top: Celine Bottom: eBay Top: Primark Bottom: Topshop Top: H&M Bottom: Rayban Top: Primark Middle: Topshop Bottom: Rayban MiuMiu These are the ones I'm craving from MiuMiu.   My favourite colour is red and I can't believe I don't own a red pair of sunnies!  I'm just hoping they suit me.  I really like the glitter ones they do too, so pretty.

My London Bucket List

London has been my home forever.  In my 20 odd years I've never lived anywhere else, which may seem a bit sad but I just love London and would never want to call anywhere else home.  As the old adage goes "when a man is bored of London, he is bored of life" and it's true.  London has so much to offer and something for everyone. Saying that, I've always had dreams of living abroad; Paris, New York, Sydney and it got me thinking, before I go off on a big adventure there's still a few things in London I haven't ticked off my bucket list.  There is honestly so much to see and do in this City and with new things being announced all the time, it would take a whole lifetime to see. So here's what I've come up with so far: 1.  Jack The Ripper Tour 2.  Ronnie Scott's 3.  Brick Lane Curry 4.  The Globe 5.  Battersea Power Station 6.  Afternoon Tea at Buckingham Palace [gardens] 7.  The Old Bailey 8.  Boris Bikes 9.  China Town
