Thursday Ten: Where I Shop

Fashion is one of my biggest passions.  Fashion and writing which is exactly why I decided to start a blog.  I've never been a huge designer lover but love high street brands and bagging a bargain.  The only thing I really invest a lot of money in is handbags and maybe the odd pair of shoes.  So here are my favourite places to shop in store and online. 1.   ASOS Who doesn't love this website?  They literally cater for all needs.  They have their own brand which I love and other brands giving you so much variety.  They have the best sales and give student discount. 2.   Topshop This store has been a love of mine since I was in my teens and I can still remember getting my pay packet from my Saturday job when I was at school and literally spending all my wages here.  Their sales can be a bit of a jumble but they also give student discount. 3 .   Missguided This is probably my favourite online shopping website.  I went through a phase of making an

St Moriz Self Tan Review

I'm quite late to the party here but I had quite a few other self tanners I wanted to use up before making room for this one.  So, can we talk about it?  This self tanner is a game changer and I can't get enough!  I'm actually kinda annoyed I waited so long to try it but there you go.  I've been using it for a couple of months now so here is my honest opinion of the product. I purchased it from Wilko for £3 so already I knew I couldn't go wrong, even if it turned out to be rubbish and I had to throw it straight in the bin.  I went for the mousse formula in the shade dark.  I used a mitt to apply it and just one pump at a time. It's really easy to rub in and has a hint of colour so you can see where you're applying it.  I do find it dries quite quickly so you have to work fast but that isn't really a problem just work with smaller sections at a time.  It takes about 2 hours to fully develop and the dark one gives you a real deep tan but w

How To Make Your Mornings Brighter

Recently I've been feeling a bit 'meh' when waking up, really not wanting to get out of bed, feeling tired and having to really force myself up so I decided to change up my routine a bit.  Here's what I found helps: Green Tea or Berocca I know most people love a coffee in the morning but I've never been a fan.  A green tea or water with Berocca does it for me.  It gives me an energy boost without the lull later on or a headache.  I actually really like the taste of green tea but if you don't you can get flavoured varieties too just watch the sugar content! Music I have a radio alarm clocks that plays Radio 1 ( Nick Grimshaw ) every morning to wake me up and if a good song is playing it instantly puts me in a better mood and sometimes I find myself jumping up and having a little dance (cos I'm weird like that) so switch on the radio or your laptop and get in the groove! Sunlight I always find it easier to get up in the summ

The Audrey Hepburn Exhibition

This weekend I had the privilege of attending a private blogger's viewing of the Audrey Hepburn Exhibition that is currently on display at The National Portrait Gallery in London. Audrey Hepburn has been an icon of mine and many other woman for many years so I was extremely excited when I received this invitation. When I arrived I was meeted and greeted before being shown into a room where we had a curator give a short talk on the exhibition and the life of Audrey Hepburn. The exhibition celebrates 65 years since Audrey Hepburn first performed at London 's West End nightclub Ciro's.  From here she excelled into the Hollywood Legend that we all know and love but the fame, glamour and actress lifestyle wasn't all that defined her.  She was a fascinating woman that lead an extraordinary life. She did a lot of missionary work for UNICEF and after she was done with Hollywood she dedicated her life to it. She was without doubt a truly talented perso

Thursday Ten: Things I Would Tell My Teenage Self

To be fair, I had some pretty good teenage years.  I had a great group of friends, went to a pretty decent school, never got bullied and due to my super dry skin never suffered any terrible outbreaks of acne.  HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I totally escaped the teenage angst so here's what I would tell myself if I could go back in time. 1.  You will discover fake tan and all your pale skin days will be over. 2.  You will learn to accept your freckles and embrace them.  They are kisses from the sun as nan would say! 3.  Don't stress over algebra.  No-one gets it.  Not even the teachers.  And you will never ever use it again. 4.  Don't worry about leaving school and all your friends behind.  In a few years we will have Facebook and you can stalk people until your heart's content! 5.  Enjoy your school days because they really are the best days of your life.  Once you start working there's no going back. 6.  You will learn how to apply m

Inside My Make-Up Bag

Following on from my 'What's in my handbag' and 'What's in my carry on ' posts I thought I would share the contents of my make-up bag as I always love having a snoop in other peoples! Firstly, I'll be honest, I don't generally carry a make-up bag everywhere with me.  I generally only throw mascara and a lip balm in my bag most of the time but if I'm going out after work or staying somewhere over night then I will pack a make-up bag. Starting with the bag itself I have this beautiful one from Aspinal of London which my mum bought me and it matches the Marylebone tote that I have.  It's black leather with purple suede inside which pops out so you can clean it.  It also comes with a little mirror. So what's inside?  If I'm staying overnight then I'm take my foundation, if I'm going straight from work I won't bother but just touch up with concealer.  I'll then have my trusty powder, bronzer and blush.  A

Wear | Life | Eats: Feeling Vintage

This weekend I went back in time and got all vintage and retro.  I love anything old fashioned with a bit of history and seeing how things have evolved over the years. Wear When my mum was about 21 she treated herself to not one but TWO Burberry macs , lucky her!  She told me the story of how her and her mum rushed over to Harrods early one Saturday to purchase these beautiful macs with her first pay cheque.  She must have been determined to get her money's worth because she still has them now.  Well, I have them ;) So here is me styling the black one with some ripped jeans and a white crop top.  The style has changed slightly over the years and I think I would prefer it a little shorter but I love it all the same and will cherish it FOREVER haha. Life There was a vintage festival going on this weekend so a friend and I went along to check it out.  They had bands and a DJ playing music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.  They also had a huge collection of

My Fitness Regime

I could have sworn I'd done a fitness regime post before because I was going to title this 'My Fitness Regime: UPDATED', however, I can't find anything anywhere so I guess this is my first one!   Anyway, in that case, I better give you a bit of background on my fitness journey.  I'm a trained dancer and went to stage school from about the age of 3 all the way until I was 18.  I took GCSE and A-Level dance and have passed every level of ISTD ballet, tap, modern & jazz. After leaving school I took up gym and starting going to classes to keep my fitness levels up.  I did lots of cardio and a few pilates and yoga classes to keep my muscle stretched and a good posture.  I always shied away from weights as I thought they would make me bulky and butch. However, this year I did some research into the best forms of exercise and what to eat for my body type and have realised that actually weight exercises are really important.  By doing weights we will

Shop: Red, White & Blue/4th of July

We don't celebrate 4th of July in the UK but red, white and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations to wear.  I love navy and white together for a crisp classic look and then the pop of red for some extra vibrance and because it's my most loved colour to wear!
