My Fitness Regime

I could have sworn I'd done a fitness regime post before because I was going to title this 'My Fitness Regime: UPDATED', however, I can't find anything anywhere so I guess this is my first one!

Anyway, in that case, I better give you a bit of background on my fitness journey.  I'm a trained dancer and went to stage school from about the age of 3 all the way until I was 18.  I took GCSE and A-Level dance and have passed every level of ISTD ballet, tap, modern & jazz.

After leaving school I took up gym and starting going to classes to keep my fitness levels up.  I did lots of cardio and a few pilates and yoga classes to keep my muscle stretched and a good posture.  I always shied away from weights as I thought they would make me bulky and butch.

However, this year I did some research into the best forms of exercise and what to eat for my body type and have realised that actually weight exercises are really important.  By doing weights we will not only tone up but will lose weight easier/maintain a healthy weight because you have more muscle.

So now I do 6 classes a week which consist of:

I get a real mixture in there and have noticed a difference in my figure.  I have toned up but without getting bulky as I don't lift massive weights.  I also have a lot more energy and flexibility which is exactly what I want to get from my workouts.

Every 6 months or so I generally change up my workout routine but this is what's working for me at the moment along with a diet of carbs and protein.  I have also tried to cut down on sugar.

Here are my favourite websites on fitness:

  5. How was Rachael Attard compared to Kayla? I've been doing Kayla Itnes for 2 years but want to focus more on my body type as a mesomorph with very strong legs Scared of losing all the tone I got from Kayla, im wanting to lose muscle mass on my legs. Let me know your experience.

  6. Try dancing or take a yoga class. You could also do a boxing or yoga class. If you don't like a certain activity, you don't have to try it again, but will burn some calories just trying. Look here
