The Curious Case of the Dog In The Nightime
On
Monday I was again invited by Official London Theatre to see one of their
exciting shows. This time it was The
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime.
I had heard of this show before because it had won several awards and I
knew it had been turned in a book but I didn’t know much of the story line.
From
the title is seems like it would be quite a lighthearted show about, well, a
dog and it is but it’s so much deeper than that. It follows the story of a teenage boy living
with autism and his take on life. You
get to see the world through his eyes and how different and sometimes scary it
must be to live with this condition. In
one sense he is remarkably intelligent but on the other hand he still needs
constant supervision from situations he cannot grasp.
It's
definitely an eye opening show and even features a cute little puppy at the
end. Oh and a pet rat!
I
enjoyed this play a lot more than I thought I would. It’s currently showing at Piccadilly Theatre
in London until the end of April 2019 and you can buy tickets here.
Have you seen any good shows recently?
