Hair Extensions: Update

I did a blog post (here) about 18 months ago about my keratin bonded hair extensions.  I've had them removed since and was going to have them re-applied when I thought I would give some clip-ins a go.

I've had bonded hair extensions in twice and whilst I love them they can be hard work and when it comes to removing them it takes ages and pulls out a lot of your natural hair.

I had a clip-on hair piece which I bought in Sydney before I got the bonded extensions and found it really easy to use.  As I'd heard so much hype about the Bellami extensions I thought I would give them a go.  They were pretty pricey and I got absolutely killed with the customs fee being shipped over to the UK but I think they were worth it as they are gorgeous pieces of hair.

I went for the 220g in 22 inches and the colour mochachino, although this was a bit too much hair for me and I only really wear half of them.  I prefer to curl them before I put them in as they are pretty long although I may get my sister (the hairdresser) to cut them down a bit.  I used my Remington curling wand on them and then left them to set overnight.  The curls then dropped slightly into a gorgeous wave and have lasted ages.

I don't wear them loads which is good because then I don't have to wash them as often which is what will wear them down.  They say they last for roughly 6 months but I think I will probably get about 12 months out of them as I only wear them maybe 2-3 times per month.

If you are thinking of getting clip-in extensions I would highly recommend these as they feel beautiful, look stunning and completely natural.  They are thick from root to tip and don't matte at all.  You can wash them and use all kinds of heated tools and products on them.

Have you tried Bellami extensions?  What do you think of them?  I'm tempted to try the Kylie ones next!

  1. Wow! I love how natural the extensions look. They added a lot of volume to your hair, and the waves are such a fabulous touch. I'm glad your experience with the Bellami extensions is a success. I'll be waiting for the Kylie update, Lauren. Thanks for sharing that! Stay gorgeous! :)

My Favourite Looks From Fashion Week

Last month was 'Fashion Month' with showcases and catwalks taking place each week in different locations across London, New York, Paris and Milan.  Although I have been attending London Fashion Week for several years now, this time around I was in California and unfortunately could not attend any shows. However, that did not stop me from catching up once I was back from my trip to check out all the latest trends.  I was also browsing the   Esprit website   and noticed they had some awesome pieces just like the trends seen on the runway last month. Here are some of my favourites that I think are going to be hot this season and where you can copy the looks for less! Floral prints at Gucci.  You can shop the look for less here . All black at Marc Jacobs.  Shop the look for less here . Bows at Chloe.  Shop the look for less here . Sparkles at Alexander McQueen.  Shop the look for less here . New Year, New You

As with every New Year, we make resolutions (you can see mine in my last post) but I think for most of us it's about becoming a newer and better person than we were last year.  I've come up with a few ways we can make little changes to become a newer and better you. New Hair I've said in many of my posts how much I like to change my hair and you can read about my hair dying experience here and my hair extensions experience here .  However, it needn't be a drastic change, just a little trim and some subtle highlights .  Whenever I change my hair I always feel like a new woman! New Wardrobe The New Year is probably the best time to invest in some new clothes because there are so many sales on.  You don't even have to spend a lot of money, I love affordable brands such as Esprit which do really on trend pieces at high street prices.  With a new wardrobe you will not only feel better but look better too! How to Wear a Pink Lip

Wearing a pink lip can sometimes be quite hard, especially if it's a rather bright and vibrant shade but I think it looks so lovely for this time of the year. My favourite shade of pink is Impassioned by MAC .  It's very bright and has such a creamy texture that it glides on really well and stays put for quite a few hours.  I find I never have to wear a lip liner with this one either. When wearing a pink lip I think it's important to get the rest of your make up right so that you don't look washed up and colours don't clash. So starting off with the skin I would get myself nice and tanned.  My favourite tanners at the moment are the Superdrug Solait tan in dark and also Tan Truth which you can get from Sally's Salon Services.  Where I have just come back from Ibiza I have still got a bit of a tan so every few days I use the St Tropez Everyday gradual tanner and this helps top up my tan slightly. Then you've got to get the make-up right so
